nothing.monolith is a living, cumulative artwork rather than a collection of interchangeable files. Every published state belongs to the history of the same object.

What the work is
A single evolving digital object
States document change. They do not divide the artwork.
State 000164 contains the exact same permanent erasures as every earlier state, plus every later verified addition through witness 164. Provenance belongs to the full chain.
State records
Earlier state images are documentary evidence of the same artwork at a specific moment, not separate newly generated works.
Permanent authorship
The project retains authorship, copyright, continuity control and responsibility for the canonical ledger.
Public participation
Witnesses co-author change through the rule, but no participant receives ownership merely by following or viewing.

Future framework
Future acquisition framework
Any future offer must preserve the chain of evidence.
Exact state and date
The acquired record would identify the exact state number, publication date and permanent witness high.
Cryptographic hashes
The image and ledger would be accompanied by SHA-256 identifiers so the delivered files can be verified independently.
Signed provenance record
A project-issued certificate would describe the work, state, medium, dimensions, rule, custody and edition status.
Clear display licence
Display, exhibition and reproduction permissions would be written plainly; authorship and copyright would remain with the project unless expressly agreed otherwise.
No public price, edition or acquisition structure has been announced. Expressions of serious future interest are welcome.
